KH show Sunday night. We were treated to an hour or so of Throwing Muses stuff followed by another hour of her solo work with stories about her usual weirdo stories involving her man, her fam, and dead animals peppered here and there. All lump-in-the-throat beautiful of course and I nearly lost it during "Counting Backwards." A lot less older men in the crowd than usual which was pretty cool. Last time I saw her play I felt like I was at a stalker convention.
Yeah, I think its pretty obvious that I am completely enamored by the woman both when she plays the role of "musician" and "mom". She has managed to tame her madness and use it constructively and yet a good chunk of it is still roaming free and living comfortably with her, her adoring husband, kids and various pets. Not an easy task. Lately, I've been reading a bit about "art brut" I think Ms. Hersh's work is a perfect example of it.
